The Science Guild is a guild in Kandor City.

History[]

As a member of the Science Guild, Tharb-El discovered a cure for the Green Death, which nearly drove Kryptonians to extinction.[1] Val-El was also a member of the Science Guild, but was ultimately executed for sedition. Fourteen years later, his grandson Seg was given a position in the Science Guild.[2]

During the civil war between Dru-Zod's forces on Krypton and rebel forces on Wegthor, Lyta offered Val-El to work in the Guild if all rebels surrendered peacefully.[3] Similarly, Dru-Zod also offered him to work in the Guild, but Val refused it because of his bloodthirsty conquest of space. During that time he visited the Guild to oversee the development of the weapon to use it against the resistance on Wegthor, developed by the lead scientist Lis-Ser.[4] Zod later used the weapon against Doomsday in Outlands, captured and brought him in the Guild to control him.[5][6]
