The rankless refers to those that were not part of a guild in Kandor City on the planet Krypton. They were typically treated poorly by those within guilds.
History[]
The rankless live in the Rankless District, where many attend a bar operated by Kem.[1] Many rankless were angry at authorities and Military Guild who felt being repressed, causing a social unrest. The religious figure, named Voice of Rao, managed to calm them down and convinced them to have a trust in him. In reality, they were manipulated by foreign alien being who wanted to destroy Krypton, known as Brainiac.
Following the war against Brainiac by resistance movement, General Zod from the future rose to power and in several months all rankless people were required to register in Sagitari army. This apparently created an equality in the people, but only caused a complete lack of freedom and opposition as Zod wanted to create a powerful army to conquer other civilizations in space.
