After releasing her, they went through underground ice tunnels. They were found by a members of Cythonnite cult and taken to their lair. As a reward for helping her, they offered to heal Seg's wounds and learn about his knowledge about Brainiac. Although grateful to him, Raika revealed to him that Seg's family fought her clan long ago. Because of the enmity they hold for the family, she thought that Seg will not be allowed to escape alive. Seg lied to her that his family will search for him relentlessly and Raika agreed to give him oxygen mask and communications device for his escape. When Seg was captured by Dru-Zod, Seg realised why Zod and his agents captured Raika, because they needed her knowledge about to stop Brainiac.[1]

They revealed that the sect knew the secret of the weapon that could destroy Brainiac - in the form of terrifying creature named Doomsday, created by El and Zod 1000 cycles ago. Since Zod wanted to obtain it, this came to the armed condlict between two sides. Raika survived this conflict along with Anireh, Junra and other comrades.[2]

Raika and others noticed that the barrier field on the capsule was weakening, fearing that the Doomsday might awaken. She decided to take the weapon to use it against Brainiac as the latter attempted to "bottle" Kandor.[3]

After the events of "The Phantom Zone", the Cythonnite cult was rounded up and either conscripted or vanished, with Raika herself being captured by General Zod's Sagitari. Raika was tortured for information about Doomsday weapon, under the supervision of Lyta-Zod, but not knowing anything, Lyta ordered Raika to undergo "Somatic Reconditioning" to have her mind reshaped into a completely different, compliant person.[4]

"Danger Close"[]

Seg-El discovers Raika

Raika after being sedated.

Receiving treatment after his ordeal in the Phantom Zone, Seg-El noticed Raika working at the hospital, and tried to talk to her, but she was initially unresponsive. He asked if she remembers him, but she did not, and eventually began to have a panic attack, screaming "no" repeatedly and pushing Seg away until several other aids arrived to sedate her and took her to the "Somatic Division", where Seg followed. After asking few questions to technician, he knocked him down. Through the panel, Seg saw that Lyta-Zod authorised this treatment. Suspecting of Lyta's act, he tried to find out more, but no result. Then he replaced Raika with technician Tovis-Fen and found that Lyta was also reconditioned under the order from Dru-Zod, who arrived quickly because Lyta informed his location. Seg was put into recondition process. The guards took unconscious Raika somewhere into an unknown location.[5]
