Krypton is the home planet of the Kryptonians.

In the original timeline, Krypton exploded due to it's core being destabilized by Brainiac's "bottling" of Kandor City, two centuries prior to Krypton's destruction. This future was averted due to both the House of El and the House of Zod's efforts.

History[]

A thousand cycles ago, Jo-Mon challenged many of his enemies to duels to the death atop the Jewel Mountains, defeating them all and creating a tradition. Also at that time, two houses of El and Zod created a weapon that was sealed in the vault: Doomsday. This was at the time when the two city-states, Kandor and Argo City were in the civil war, but ended when Jo-Mon proclaimed the peace and united all cities. This weapon would not be known among the population until centuries later when the Cythonnite sect discovered and kept it from falling into the wrong hands.

Over the time, several guilds were created to function in the planet: Military, Science, Lawmakers, Religious, Technicians and Artisans Guild. They also developed an advanced technology for various purposes such as transportation.

Kryptonians had a religion in which several deities were worshipped such as Rao, Cythonna, Lorra, Mordo, Telle, Yuda, Flamebird and Vohc.

Some hundreds of years ago, they colonised one moon Wegthor. It has been primarily a mining colony. A massive ladder, known as a Hypersonic Orbital Tether, was constructed to allow the transport between two celestial bodies.

Some cycles ago, a member of Science Guild, Tharb-El discovered a cure for the Green Death, which nearly drove Kryptonians to extinction.

At some point, the planet's population began using a Genesis Chamber as a form of conception.

Although civilization progressed, over the time it experienced a decline because of decadent lifestyle among some people, causing a social tensions and inequality in population. This was in part caused by Daron-Vex's manipulation with the Codex and Vara Protocol in the Genesis Chamber to make a possible immortality and to keep the power between the hands of the Guilded elite. As a result, many of the people became Rankless.

Two hundred years before the birth of Kal-El, a new religious power rose on Krypton. Voice of Rao, a prophet which is connected to Rao, was accepted among people, refusing to accept the concept of there being life beyond Krypton. One Kryptonian, Val-El, found a truth behind that power, but was charged with treason by VOR and the Council and was sentenced in the Phantom Zone. Fourteen years later, his grandson Seg-El met the Earthling from the future, Adam Strange, who told him of his future grandson who will become a superhero, Kal-El (also known as Superman) and that the alien threat from the future wants to kill him. Also, his mother Charys-El took Seg to Fortress of Solitude, a hidden Val-El's laboratory, meeting Val's holographic self. After Seg's parents were arrested and executed at the Council, Seg began to form a resistance movement. Seg realised that the VOR is a puppet created by alien warlord Brainiac who wants to destroy Krypton and its capital Kandor City. Seg gathered many allies, such as Kem, Nyssa-Vex, Lyta-Zod, Adam Strange and holographic Val-El, and later some uneasy ones like Jayna-Zod from Military Guild (who killed his parents) and his son from the future, General Zod. He and his allies also encountered other groups who were in the war against the authorities, like Black Zero and Cythonnite sect. Despite their differences, most of them agreed to help them in the fight against Brainiac, who was aware of the movement and tried to crush them mercilessly as possible. Although VOR was later killed, the real Brainiac arrived and his ship came to "bottle" Kandor City, causing a cataclysm in Krypton. Seg managed to stop his murderous rampage by pulling him into the Phantom Zone using its projector created by Val-El, but Seg was trapped as well. As a result, Kal-El was possibly erased from existence while Krypton's future was secured.

Six months later, General Zod rose to power and all Rankless people were required to register in Sagitari army, while crushing any opposition and freedom from those who are not agreedable with him. The resistance movement was still active, consisting of Nyssa-Vex, Jax-Ur, the real Val-El who was freed from the Phantom Zone, Mama Zed and Adam Strange who managed to return to Krypton after he was "bottled" in Brainiac's ship. The movement however began to crumble as their hideout was comprimised, some of them running from Sagitari soldiers. Two members, Val-El and Jax-Ur began to prepare the rebel's fight on the moon Wegthor against Zod's forces. Meanwhile, Seg (who returned from the Phantom Zone) and Adam Strange (who returned from the "bottle" in Brainiac's ship) returned to Krypton to deal with Zod's regime. Jayna-Zod (former Primus of the Military Guild) and Dev-Em (who deserted from Sagitari due to its new order by Zod) returned and aided to Seg in their fight, also in liberating Nyssa-Vex and her son Cor-Vex from Zod's clutches. The resistance on Wegthor began to overtake Space Elevator station to weaken Zod's forces, but this backfired and was initially defeated by Sagitari, but this overturned when Jax captured the commander Lyta-Zod, who later executed her because of Dru-Zod's attempt to crush the rebels. Val-El ultimately detonated the bomb by Jax to destroy Space Elevator, but Val banished her due to her murder on Lyta. Dru-Zod oversaw the development of the secret weapon in order to crush the rebels on Wegthor. Dru-Zod also found Doomsday, intending to use it to destroy the opposition. Seg, Nyssa, Jayna-Zod and Dev-Em began an operation to disable the shipyard as Zod was preparing interplanetary fleet of ships to destroy the rebels on Wegthor. While Seg and Nyssa were captured, Jayna and Dev stumbled on the real Lyta alive, as Lyta on Wegthor was a clone created and somatically reconditioned by Dru-Zod. After Seg and Nyssa were freed, the shipyard was disabled but only temporary. Seg and Nyssa went to Wegthor with Dev's modified skimmer to warn the resistance, while Jayna, Dev and Lyta stayed in Outlands outpost. Zod began to send a ship containing Sagitari and Doomsday; the latter began to assault while the resistance prepared to detonate the tunnels and capture the ship so they could evacuate. After detonating it, the moon began to crumble and exploded in space.
