Jor-El was a member of the House of El and the father of Val-El. Through Val, Jor was the paternal grandfather of Ter-El, great-grandfather of Seg-El and great-great-grandfather of his namesake, Jor-El.
Biography[]
At some point in his life, Jor-El fathered a son, Val-El who would father a son of his own, Ter-El. In time, Jor would become the namesake of his great-grandson, Seg's own son, Jor-El.[1]
Personality[]
According to his son, Val, Jor-El was a gifted scientist, but he wasn't as well known as the other scientists before and after him. His main focus was his family and he was an "even better father". This prompts Jor's great-grandson, Seg and his intended Nyssa to rename their own child Jor-El.
Trivia[]
- It's possible Jor was based off the original Seyg-El in the comics whose name was Jor-El I or Jor-El the First before he received a rename and became Seyg-El, named after Superman creator Jerry Siegel.
