The Jewel Mountains are a mountainous region on Krypton.

History[]

A thousand cycles prior to the present, Jo-Mon challenged many of his enemies to duels to the death atop the Jewel Mountains, defeating them all and creating a tradition.[1] At some point in the past, Lor-Zod sent own children, Jayna and Vidar to this location to retrieve an oxygen supplier near the monument of Sword of Jo-Mon. Only one them was to survive this task - Jayna accomplished this task while Vidar did not make it. Jayna wanted to return to find him but her father refused her act and later gave to Jayna the necklace of House of Zod.[2] During the great unrest in Kandor, due to its failed coup attempt against Voice of Rao, Lyta found Dev-Em who was hiding in Rankless District, telling her that her mother escaped somewhere. Lyta remembered that her mother was in that region in the past. She and Dev found the small sanctuary made by Jayna, but soon were shocked that Dev was brainwashed by Brainiac. After some struggle, Lyta shot the blaster in his hand, apparently killing him.[3] Dev-Em however survived and he wandered through another region, Outlands, where he was found by Lyta, Seg and Nyssa-Vex and taken to Fortress of Solitude.
