Araame was a former Sagitari combat instructor.

Biography[]

Prelude[]

At some point in the past, Araame was Nyssa-Vex's lover. She taught Nyssa how to fight effectively, as Araame was herself in the Military Guild.

Season 1[]

"Transformation"[]

After fighting off the Sagitari in her quarters and escaping, Seg-El asked Nyssa how she came to be such a good fighter. Nyssa explained how Araame, although not a faithful lover, did give her enough combat training to defend herself well.[1]

Season 2[]

"Will To Power"[]

Nyssa-Vex seduces Araame

Nyssa-Vex stumbled into Araame on Wegthor, now a part of the Resistance. Araame believed in Jax-Ur's advice that one need not have their future shaped by the Genesis Chamber, and since she enjoyed her work with scientists, the freedom. Araame apologized if she hurt Nyssa, and Nyssa responded by seducing her. While Araame was asleep afterward, Nyssa stole data from her.[2]

"Danger Close"[]

Araame captured Kem, now a recruited Sagitari for General Zod, and took him into custody as a prisoner of war. She questioned him on how he was the only one who managed to survive the attack on his unit. She then attended the speech that Val-El and Jax-Ur give to the Resistance. Later, she was given a genetic bomb by Jax, to be used only at Jax's command. She then met with Adam Strange, Kem, and the rest of her special task force.

Araame activates the weapon

Araame activates Jax-Ur's "Codex Weapon", which fails to detonate.

When the ground force died due to tainted oxygenators, Jax ordered Araame to detonate the "Codex Weapon". She went to activate it, saying there's was no time to explain, but Kem pulled a gun on her and forced her, so she explained that it is a "genetic bio-weapon that's linked to the Codex", meant to kill every last Sagitari on Wegthor. As Adam and Kem looked at each other, Araame apologized to Kem before activating the button. Even after several presses however, nothing happened, as she reported to Jax that the detonator had failed. She and others were captured by Sagitari and Lyta-Zod in underground tunnels.[3]

"A Better Yesterday"[]

Jax-Ur consulting Araame

Araame advising Jax-Ur.

Araame and her task force were freed, with the exception of Kem and Adam Strange, as a "sign of good faith" from Lyta. The only condition being for them to carry a message to Jax-Ur and Val-El was Lyta requesting a meeting, which Araame did, noting that Kem and Adam were hostages. Araame attended the summit, but simply standed in the background. She walked with Jax, assuring her that they still have access to Kandor's broadcasting system, just as Jax had an argument with Val-El and had him taken into custody. Araame later gave a continuous stream of reports on the Sagitari retreat from Wegthor that Jax arranged, until Araame has Lyta returned to her cell following orders from Jax. She later witnessed Jax's execution of Lyta, as Zod tried to deceive the former.[4]

"In Zod We Trust"[]

In shock at Jax-Ur's act of barbarism, Araame covered up Lyta-Zod's corpse before receiving orders to gather a strike team by Jax. Before she could comply however, Val-El interrupted them and wrested the leadership from Jax-Ur via persuasion. Araame, Jax, and Jax's other loyalists were then imprisoned. In her cell, Araame insulted Val, only for Jax to assault Araame and defend Val as brilliant scientist, just ignorant of what she went through under the Voice of Rao and Daron-Vex. Araame expressed her faith in Jax, and Jax had Araame keep a lookout while she pulled a weapon from within her flesh.

Together they left, and planted gravity bombs around the Space Elevator base station to destroy it completely. When Val-El, Adam Strange, and Kem arrived to intercept them however, they got caught in a gunfight and Val shot Araame, killing her.[5]
