"Blood Moon" is the ninth episode of Krypton's second season. It aired on August 7, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Seg reunites with Val and the Rebels as General Zod mounts his final attack on the Rebellion.
Plot[]
In the Outlands bar, Seg, Lyta, Nyssa, Jayna-Zod and Dev-Em discuss of Dru's treatment of Lyta and his plans to conquer the space and Wegthor. Dev-Em suggests Seg to go with his modified skimmer so that he can reach Wegthor. Due to Lyta's exhaustion, Jayna tells her to rest. Outside of the bar, after some discussion between Seg and Nyssa, they find Dev's ship, but slightly broken. In the shelter, Jayna and Dev notice Lyta having a fever, due to its virus from the Black Mercy. As they can't reach the medical bay in Kandor, Dev suggests a hantha root, which was used on Wegthor in the case of lack of medical shortages. Dev goes to find it, while Jayna stays to care Lyta. Dem later brings the juice of that plant for her. Soon after, Sagitari forces come to the area to search. Entering the shelter, two soldiers, Thur and Pline, are captured and shocked to see Lyta alive, as the latter explains that it was her clone made by Zod. Thur and Pline decide to join them.
Outside of the Military Guild, General Zod gives the speech to his army, giving them a confidence to crush the rebels on Wegthor. In the Science Guild, despite Lis-Ser's warnings, Zod orders to release Doomsday. Zod orders him to kneal, which he does as he has enough toxins from the Black Mercy so that he could be compliant.
Seg and Nyssa manage to travel on Wegthor, reuniting with Val-El, but Seg warns him of the upcoming Zod's fleet on the moon, forcing the rebels to accelerate their preparation against them. Seg also reunites with Kem and Adam Strange. Outside of HQ, Zod's ship with Sagitari arrives, but also bringing Doomsday. Commander Rune-Lux orders to fire on the creature, not knowing what it is. They think they got it, but Lux notices his movement. Seg senses that something is wrong and orders the unit to retreat, but Lux ignores the order. The whole unit assaults, but Doomsday with an ease kills Lux and other rebels. As the whole unit is slaughtered, Seg and others discuss what to do, until Seg decides that they should capture the ship. Val orders Adam to evacuate all civilians and soldiers as possible to the ship, while he, Seg and Kem try to slow down the creature, and Nyssa takes a strike team to take the ship. Val orders Seg and Kem to put an explosives on all mines, except on the access 3, enough to trap Doomsday and evacuate many people. In HQ, Val stays to communicate with Seg; as Doomsday progresses, Val cannot detonate the explosives from afar as the power system is destroyed, and Seg and Kem must detonate it on the surface. Adam arrives and tells Val to go despite Val's concern with Seg, but HQ collapses and they are trapped; Val finds Adam, but is injured. Seg orders Kem to take the rebels on the surface, but Doomsday arrives and attacks them. Meanwhile, Nyssa and her team kill all Sagitari and capture the ship. Kem and Seg escaped from Doomsday who killed the whole unit. Seg notices his detonator missing and tries to get it back, but Kem decides to go instead and puts the force barrier and leaves. He finds detonator, but Doomsday grabs and kills him, but not before detonating the tunnels. All civilians, including Adam and Val are out and go to the ship. The explosives cause a wide chain reaction, causing the moon falling apart. Seg finds the skimmer and tries to escape. The moon explodes, much to Nyssa and Val's shock.
