Black Zero was a rebel organization operating in Kandor City.

History[]

Black Zero operated on Kandor, seeking to disrupt the natural order. They sent a suicide bomber to the Lawmakers Guild, where he attempted to injure the Voice of Rao. However, he was stopped by Seg-El, before a Sagitari shot off his arm implanted with the bomb.[1] The Military Guild initiated an operation "The Rankless Initiative" to root out Black Zero, but it went wrong when unarmed individual was killed, causing an public outcry.[2] When Seg-El went to search and gather the allies for resistance against Brainiac, two of his uneasy aliies, General Zod (his descendant from the future) and Jayna-Zod went to Black Zero HQ looking for reinforcements. Although Black Zero was initially mistrustful, Dru-Zod made a convincing argument. The leader of Black Zero, Jax-Ur, asked them to hand over Daron-Vex, which they agreed to. While the Voice of Rao plugged into the Genesis Chamber, Seg, Zod, Jayna and Black Zero infiltrated the chamber. They shut down telepathic connection and, during the fight, Jayna shot Voice's body, falling down into the abyss. Daron-Vex was later brought to Jax-Ur to interrogate him. Discovering that VOR was still alive, Seg lead a team comprised of Black Zero operatives, Sagitari soldiers and revolutionaries to take him down. They went to the generator in which VOR sucked the energy in order to bring his ship and destroy Kandor. This action went wrong when Brainiac with own telepathy manipulated all soldiers and operatives, putting them to kill each other. After this, Brainiac caught Seg and prepared to kill him, but Seg was saved by Nyssa-Vex who killed VOR with sunstone. When the real Brainiac arrived, his ship began to bottle the whole city of Kandor, forcing Black Zero operatives to evacuate many people as possible. Seg managed to stop his conquest by pulling Brainiac into the Phantom Zone projector, with both trapped in the Phantom Zone. One month later, General Zod managed to take a power in Krypton, resulting in the end of Black Zero.[3][4][5]
